The MIC2500 solution improves business operation efficiency within the pharmaceutical industry. As of September 30, 2006, pharmacies and their employees are required by law to record the identity of individuals buying over the counter drugs products containing pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, or phenylpropanolamine such as Actifed, Sudafed, and Nyquil. The pharmacy staff must not only use a government ID to verify the purchaser's identity but also record the information from that ID, obtain the signature of the purchaser, and then record data about the drug purchased, the quantity sold, and the date / time of the sale. The MIC2500 solution is more than a driver license reader but was built precisely for these types of tasks.
In one record it captures all of the required information including the customer's signature. The MIC solution works on a standard personal computer and/or the MIC2500 mobile device. The Mobile ID Check solution provides:
- Standard reports
- Data that can be extracted to any software application (e.g. Access, Excel, Oracle, etc.) that accepts XML format
- A network solution so that a company with multiple pharmacies can share information and validate that customers are not purchasing multiple quantities at different company locations
- Calculates daily amounts per customer
- Allows organization to decide how long to keep information
- Allows for Federal Law and/or state regulations to be used
